Smartphoneware Best FileGuard v1.0 S90

It will integrate into your system and become a guard for your special files! FileGuard allows to decrypt files on the fly and encrypts them again after the view/edit operation is finished.

Do you care about confidential data on your smartphone, and you don't want to share this very important information? You need FileGuard! It will integrate into your system and become a guard for your special files! FileGuard allows to decrypt files on the fly and encrypts them again after the view/edit operation is finished. E.g. when you try to open an encrypted document file, FileGuard offers to enter the password, decrypts the document and starts Word application for it, after Word is closed the document will be encrypted automatically.

How to start:

You can add all kinds of files you are going to encrypt in the main application view. After you add a file to favourites it can be encrypted. You can open the encrypted file from all kinds of applications. (e.g. FileMan, PowerFile, PowerDesk etc).

When you try to open the encrypted file, FileGuard will ask you to enter the password. After entering the password, the application used to read or edit the file will be opened automatically. (e.g. for doc - Word, xls - Excel, bmp,jpg - Image viewer etc).After closing the application, the file will be encrypted.

Favourites list is needed for encryption only. After encrypting files you can close FileGuard and work with them from other applications.

Operations:
Add file - allows to add file(s) to favourites list;
Remove - allows to remove selected file(s) from favourites list;
Encrypt/Decrypt/Change password - allows to perform encryption on the selected file;
Wipe setting - erases the file from a disk. It increases security after deleting the file;
Mark/Unmark all, invert selection - this command allows to select/deselect items in the list. Mark/unmark the current item in the list can be performed with space key.
Shift + up/down arrows can be used for multi selection;

Features and benefits:
To keep your files secure we use industry standard BlowFish encryption and MD5 message digest algorithms.
Passwords are not stored anywhere in the document or in any place on device to further increase the safety. Password verification is performed by checking digital signs.
FileGuard not only encrypts files but compresses them as well. File compressing stores disk space and lets the file load faster.
If the password field is left empty but compression is selected when encrypting then the file will be compressed only. When you open it, it'll be uncompressed automatically without asking for password.
After the file was encrypted it gets .fse extension, e.g. if the original file name was "Schedule.xls" then encrypted file name will be "Schedule.xls.fse". It permits to determine what kind of encrypted file you have.

Note: Because Nokia 7710 (Series 90) concept does not provide for a command of closing a document or an application, FileGuard will not be able to work correctly with some file types. For the file to become encrypted again after you finished editing it, you must close the application in which you viewed or edited the file!
