SafeGuard PrivateCrypto is an easy-to-use tool that enables you to notonly encrypt files, but also compress them if required. This will prevent anyunauthorized access to these files. You can also encrypt these files before you send them to guarantee that your data is exchanged securely. You can send encrypted archives with any of the transport mechanisms supported on your device, for example, as e-mail attachments, via Bluetooth, infrared, or USB. The recipient can then decrypt these files when they arrive.

PrivateCrypto uses the AES (Rijndael) algorithm with 256 bit key length for its encryption process. This algorithm is the successor to the standard DES algorithm and provides exceptional levels of performance and security.

Product Overview :

* Compression and encryption of files.
* AES-256 is the default encryption algorithm. It is also possible to create archives with 128 bit key length (AES-128) for compatibility with older versions of PrivateCrypto and the Windows Mobile platform.
* Secure wiping (deletion) of files.

Cross-Platform Compatibility of Encryption Modules (Archives)

Files encrypted with SafeGuard PrivateCrypto on other platforms (Windows PC, Windows Mobile) can be shared with the Symbian version of SafeGuard PrivateCrypto.
NOTE :
The Windows Mobile version of SafeGuard PrivateCrypto only supports AES with 128 bit key length. Please take this into account when sharing encrypted archives with the Windows Mobile platform.
• When decrypting archives from another platform no other actions are needed – all required actions are performed automatically by SafeGuard PrivateCrypto.

If you want to exchange an encrypted archive with another person, you must ensure that the password is exchanged over a secure channel (for example, SMS, separate e-mail, or verbally). You should never send the encrypted archive together with its password.

The menu items in the PrivateCrypto’s Options main menu give you these options:

Encrypt - Opens a window in which you select one or more files to encrypt.
Decryp t- Opens a window in which you select an encrypted archive that you want to decrypt.
Settings - Select this option to change the encryption settings.
Help - Opens the PrivateCrypto help pages.
About - Shows program information, the version number and copyright information about PrivateCrypto.
Exit - Closes the PrivateCrypto program.
