Hope to find some Tec freaks here to discuss the annoying problem on the "time out" what you get if you try to watch a video from the internet via WLan on a Nokia N80.
----------------
Here is the case: If you watch any streaming video (for example through ORB streaming or any internet site, which offers a video) with N80, you will make the experience that 1) if you are connected through GPRS or UMTS you can watch the stream without any problems. If you connect through a WLAN, you will always get a "timeout" and no connection of the real player.
2) The Nokia real player is not able to read all standard real streaming formats (I could not exactly find out which formats are supported) and the included Flash player cannot read online flash streams.
3) If you connect with the NOKIA Podcast reader (which is a nice tool) to Podcast, which include videos, the poor real player on my Nokia again cannot read most of the formats. Only, if by chance the format is compatible to the Nokia mp4 format.----------------
This all is quite disappointing, because, what is it worth to visit an internet site if you cannot watch the online streams (videos or flashes)?
Does anybody know if there is an alternate Multimedia Player for the N80?
I am willing to pay any reasonable price, if there is nice software available.
On the other hand, does somebody know how to avoid the timeout with the current Nokia player? (I have tested on different networks and made sure all firewall settings have been switched off or the ports are open etc...)
Thanks in advance for your effort and help
