SymSMB 1.10 enables collaboration between mobile phone and network computer on the Internet by implementing a remote file-access protocol that is compatible with the way applications already share data on local disks and network file servers.

SymSMB 1.10 incorporates the same high-performance multi-user read/write operations, locking, and file-sharing semantics that are the backbone of today's sophisticated enterprise computer networks.

SymSMB 1.10 runs over TCP/IP and utilizes the Internet's global Domain Naming Service (DNS) for scalability, and is optimized to support slower speed dial-up connections common on the Internet.

SymSMB 1.10 also uses NetBIOS name services for easier integration to Windows network.

SymSMB 1.10 uses industry standard CIFS (SMB) protocol for remote file access. All windows computers natively use CIFS (SMB) protocol to access shared files on network computers. UNIX based computers use SAMBA to share and access network files. The main task of SymSMB 1.10 is to share files located on S60 phone on the network.

S60 3rd edition phone with WiFi (WLAN a/b/g) powered by SymSMB 1.10 becomes Network Mobile Multimedia Computer> (NMMC)
Map phone (NMMC) drive or folder as a network drive from a PC and get full access to it's files.
(no cables nor PC special software is needed) Copy files to/from NMMC from any network computer without missing incoming calls.
Copy files to/from NMMC from any network computer while listening to music or watching video clips.

The future of mobile networking is today.

"The best way to predict the future is to invent it."

Symbian-based smartphones are becoming an important part of every-day activity for almost everyone. Staying up-to-date with the latest Symbian technologies is crucial for software development companies. Telexy Networks develops set of mobile network technologies that transforms today’s smartphones into Network Mobile Multimedia Computers.

  • Are you tired of having to constantly plug your phone into PC using cables to manage the files on it?
  • Are you worried that you can miss an important call while plugged in?
  • Do you dislike not being able to listen to your favourite tunes or to watch cool videos while connected via cable?
If you answer “yes” to any of the above, you are in the right place!

What do I need to get this SymSMB work over Bluetooth?
When you say "ME", do you mean Windows ME?

Seems to be a fine soft.
However, I got Error=-34 when trying to connect.
Had anyone else got the same error ?
Could he fix it ?
_______
Ok, Apparently, we can't use static ip with wifi, otherwise, it may generate a 34-Error. So I used dhcp, and everything went ok.

Now, does anyone know why when i sign the application, my certificate only lasts 6 months ? Does that mean, that when my certificate will expire, I'll have to get a new one, and I'll have to re-sign and to reinstall the application ?

What kind of operational system are you using at your computer for this?
SymSMB should works fine at Windows XP.
At Windows 2000/2003 you should use IP address instead of name.
Windows Vista and Linux in this version are not supported as developers
going to add this support to next version of the software.

I contacted once their support Email address (support@telexy.com)
and they are quite helpful.

In recent Email from them they were saying that there will be some
discount policy for those who bought 1-st version, like it will be just
a price difference between 2-nd and 1-st versions. And those who
have bought it before certain date, they will be able to pay only 75%
of that difference in price.

Any way, its works just fine at my N91 and with Windows XP.
Error - 34 is quite known to them and they are quite openly saying
that in certain situation it seems to be problem on their side,
but each situation should be investigated first.
I had that Error -34 before too, but now, after proper configuration
everything seems to be fine and I like it big time!

All the best.

Thanks, for your answer. I Could fix it.
I am using it with Windows XP. I only get the error when I set manual Address IP on my Nokia.

If I set automatic address, i don't get Error-34.
So everything is fine
