Sony-Ericsson T610 from o2 PROBLEMS

I just got a new T610 as an upgrade from o2 (business) and I think the phone
has some problems.

I've read in some newsgroups about the powering up problem, I have this
also. Does anyone know how to get it fixed? Software update? Handset
replacement? For those of you who haven't come across this yet, it's when
you can't turn the phone on! You press and hold the power-button and nothing
happens! Sometimes 60% of the time you can't power the phone!

The other problem seems to be with the keypad. Often, when I am scrolling
with the little joystick it gets stuck, for example when I'm scrolling down
through contacts or the menu system, then it gets stuck and keeps scrolling
in the direction I was moving, even without me touching anything. And it
generally just seems slow and sluggish. Sometimes keys just stop working
too, for example I might be editing a contact and if I try to press the "go
back" button (bottom-left) or the "ok" button (top-left) it just wont
respond, sometimes if I scoll down then back up again, then it comes back to
life.

Anyone had any problems like this? Or got any suggestions? I'm a bit annoyed
that I might have to send this back to o2, because I've been on the waiting
list for ages, and I don't want to wait another 2 weeks for a new one!

I have a T610 also and don't have any problems. What is this
'power-up' problem?

Only noticed it a few times, press the power on button and it takes a few
goes before it powers up,

I have had the power up problem.

Also
Poor battery life...much worse than 68i
No SMS Text confirmation received as text message
Cant turn off ascending ringer so end up missing calls
And on T Mob..It sometimes loses connection...and can only connect after
power off.
Bluetooth is nowhere near as easy to use as the 68i

I wish I had never bought it....the T68i was fine!

this only hapens to me when I play with it for a long time or use the
cam extensively. While in normal standby the battery life is fine for
me.

Never used that but I could turn it on in the menu.

As with T300 and I think all new handsets will have that soon. It
takes about a second to become loud. When you're too slow for that,
try increasing the time until your mailbox comes up.

Can't verify that over here in Germany. No Network problems at all.

What's your problem with the BT implementation? I find it basically
the same but File transfer is much better done with your themes,
ringers and pictures showing up in folders in BT Environment.

I am MORE than glad I did the upgrade.

This is a problem with O2. The only way you can get a delivery confirmation
is to set confirmation in the phone's menu to off and putting *0# at the
start of the message.

This is apparently a *feature* which I hope they sort soon with a future f/w
upgrade.
