There

I still cannot get my P800 to work, the software does not work with WinXP, i
tried to download the lattest version but there are no install that comes
with the drivers. WinXP does not recognise it at a valid driver so i cannot
update it.
The software they offer is pretty useless, (appart from backing up i am not
sure what else i can do).

There are also some bugs in the applications themselves, (the ones on the
phone), but i have no idear how to upgrade them.

True..

And the fact that they are using MFC, (VC6++), and not removing the default
Microsoft flags tells me that they diod not spend much time on the
applications.

I have had no problem installing and using the software on either
Win XP at home or Win 2000 at work. It backs up the phone
and synchronises Calendar, Address Books, Tasks, and Notes with
Outlook.

What bugs? Also, you can upgrade the phone firmware via any Sony
Ericsson service centre.

I have WinXP pro and it simply does not work.
I installed it as instructed and it simply does not work.
If I try to launch the application then I get told that some Dll was not
found or something else is missing. Most of the time a crash occurs, (well
as crash goes in win XP anyways).

On my machine I have Win98 as well, I have installed the software and it
seems to work but I do not have any way of working with outlook.
All I can do is backup the phone. And I do have some random crashes if I run
anything else at the same time.

If you know how to use it with Outlook please point me in the right
direction and tell me what app I should be looking for, (I have Outlook
2000).

You want bugs?
The Clear button does not work when the flap is closed. Automatic email
checking does not work for multiple email account, (only one address is
checked). The phone goes in System Failure every so often, ( and I have no
idea why, even the FAQ ask question avoids the issue).

****** From the http://www.sonyericsson.com/uk/ site.**************

I get a "System Failure" message. Why?
In the event of a system failure, your P800 will flash an animated
warning.
To recover, please restart the P800 as follows:
Press and hold the On/Off button for at least 10 seconds to turn the P800
off.
Restart as normal: Press the On/Off button to turn on your P800.

****** From the http://www.sonyericsson.com/uk/ site.**************

I still have no clue how that happens, (it usually starts when I am not
doing anything with the phone).

Where do I get such upgrades? Furthermore their site does not always work
and I often get redirected to the wrong page.
You must work for Sony Ericson because I do not seem to find the link so
readily.

I bought my phone in June and have not updated any of their software.

Just to make sure, I re-installed the application, rebooted and plugged my
phone in.
The icon on the system tray does a little search and then I get an error,
(an MFC app ...).

I then re-plug my phone in and it seems to work. I get asked to choose a new
phone and I accept all the defaults and the I get a 'Fatal exeption',
'ACCESS VIOLATION"

All the sync types are disabled. When I right click on the System tray to
Sync nothing happens.

Now, I am not sure that this is the best running app I have seen so far.

I am running v.1.0.10.0

Regards.
