T610 Synchronisation Help

Posted: 07-12-2003, 04:34 PM
I have a T610 and a Belkin USB adapter in my desktop PC. Through the Belkin
software I can see my T610 fine, however, the Mobile Phone Monitor software
that comes with the T610 just cannot see my phone. I tried downloading
updated software from the SE website but still nothing. Can anyone help?

Many thanks.

CJ

You need to activate the com port which is used to comunicate with the
phone.
For example: My BT-Adapter creates COM-Port connection which is shown as
COM-Port 4 at Windows.
Then you have to go to Windows-Settings. Then there is MobilePhoneMonitor.
There you have to activate COM-Port no (4).
Do not set it as reserved.
The next time it should work.
Sometimes it is necessary to create the Serial Port Connection manualy
before you try to synch. Normaly this connection should be established
automatically.

I had to set mine to 'reserved' in order for the Bluetooth connection to
remain stable... I'm running a Dell C640 with the Ericsson T610 and the
Belkin Bluetooth FT8001 adapter.

Unfortunately, and probably unrelated... I had to send my phone into Sony.
It has been trashing my SIM cards and freezing for some unknown reason. I
think it is related to incoming SMS messages...

Cliff.

I also have a Nokia 6310i and I notice that the 6310i is able to support Fax
over Bluetooth, whilst the T610 doesn't seem to do this - guess this is just
something the T610 doesn't have?

Sussed it.

Hadn't connected my T610 to the serial port!

For info, did.....
- right-click on BT icon in system tray
- select "services" then "Bluetooth Serial Port"
- select "Find device"

Regards
Steve

I had problems with mine until I downloaded newer driver software by
Widcomm. The version that comes with the Belkin stuff is a bit flakey
if you ask me (1.2 something) I think it was. Now I found and
downloaded version 1.3.2.7 of the Widcomm drivers from bluetake's site
here, it's much better.
