I have noticed, but not paid much attention to, postings complaining about
and wanting to remove Vodafone Live.
Why? What's wrong with it?
I am thinking of T610 on Vodafone & would like to know before jumping in.
Thanks.
DG.

It's all a matter of personal choice. I can live with the Vodafone Live!
personalisation's myself.
Having compared my Live! T610 against a colleague's Orange version, the
handsets are fundamentally the same .... the main differences (that I
noticed anyway!) were:
- Icons on main menu are not as colourful (nasty but doesn't affect
functionality)
- Right-hand soft key hardcoded to go to Vodafone Live instead of a menu
with things like 'turn on IR'. Again, annoying but the functions are still
available, just via the menus
- 'c' key seems to be programmed slightly differently
- Can't change WAP homepage
- Some extra pictures that cannot be deleted
- Vodafone logo on front & rear case (Orange only has it on front)
All in all, if you want to use Vodafone, there is not a great deal wrong
with the Vodafone Live! customisation - certainly not enough to affect your
average mobile user and certainly not enough for me to screw my warranty by
getting the firmware flashed just to get rid of it!
The other alternative is to pay more and buy a SIM free T610 but I really
don't see the benefit outweighing the extra cost.
I now sit back and await the many people who will disagree with my views :-)
