Look on Esato, someone has developed a flash upload to fix this.

However, it removes your warranty, it also cannot then be upgraded
without getting back the Vodafone customisation because the upgrade
software knows which IMEIs are Vodafone branded and puts them back on
again.

I refuse to buy branded and/or SP locked phones any more for this and
other reasons.

if i flash the phone and then have it upgraded by sonyericsson itself would
they do it?
