SE t300 latest FW version

Posted: 07-11-2003, 05:16 AM
My SE T300 has F/W of R1C001. Is this the latest version out or is there any
new one that can speed up the phone's slowness? FYI, I'm on T-Mobile USA.
TIA.

No amount of firmware upgrades can speed up significantly what is
ultimately a slow phone. Think of it this way - no amount of software on
your PC can increase the processor speed can it?

silly example really?

sure, no software can realistically increase processor speed,
but new software can utilise the processor in more effective ways, therefore
the software feels faster

Well, yes, it can increase the effective processor speed, at least.

It is possible to optimise code to speed up performance in several
different ways.

It's unlikely (though not impossible) that you will increase the
actual processor speed, but the same tasks may be done in fewer
processor cycles by clever optimisation.

It can actually.
Overclocking software can change the clock and FSB speeds meaning your PC's
processor and / or graphics cards run much faster. Downside, is that they
run at higher temperatures and lifetime expectancy is reduced.

Soft FSB is one example: (Use with care if you're going to mess!)

Yes maybe by 1 or 2 percent, but not significantly.

Ho yus?

You try replacing Windows 2000 Advanced Server with Linux, and there's
a good bit more than a few percent improvement!
