Nokia > T610 Annoyances

Previous phone: Nokia 6310i

I do think the T610 is a neat, well built little phone, but there are a few
annoyances...

SMS messages don't show the number of the person who sent them, if that
person is also in the phone book, even if they have multiple numbers
associated with their entry.

Calls diverted to the mobile only show as "Diverted" for half a second
before ringing - the 6310i added a ">" to the end of the number / name to
show it was diverted.

Sending an SMS takes too many clicks (click indicated by ">" - >Continue
>Look Up >Phonebook >Find >(select name) >(select number associated with the

name) >Send. That is 7 clicks from finishing the SMS to sending it (OK I
know this presumes that you have to find the number from the phone book, but
I still think it's too long-winded).

Am I being too critical?

CJ

I can see how this can be annoying - but I'll just hit reply anyway and not
worry about the number it came from usually, so this doesn't really affect
me.

I don't divert much either

I tend to agree here. I've gotten into a habit of just reply to messages
from people I want to send a new text to, to avoid the whole look up
process. It's quite slow compared to doing the same on a Nokia.

I think so You have one of the best phones available out there, it's
extremely reasonably priced considering everything it does. I've had a
nokia of some form for the past year and a half and I'm making a nice
transition, and really loving the T610. I think it's an excellent little
phone. Some wee things may annoy me a bit, but I know I'll get used to them
in a week or so. Other than the wee things, I haven't looked back.

You could be right, I do think it's a neat phone, and I hope I get used to
its nuances soon too.
