Com port 1 (!)

Posted: 07-10-2003, 01:50 AM
This is probably slightly off topic, but in Device Manager I have the ! mark
against Com port 1. I have a feeling this might be responsible for some of
my synchronisation problems via infrared/bluetooth with my mobile phone

Does anyone know how to troubleshoot these things or can point me to any
reference material on the web?

btw - I have XP professional on a dell laptop

Elijah

I doubt it -- probably just a disabled COM port, which shouldn't have any
effect on your system.

Thanks John,

The Windows helpfile tells me I should disable the serial port under the
bios - which is what I did and it seemed to have fixed the problem.
