Some questions on the T306

Posted: 07-08-2003, 02:49 AM
Hi all,

Traded my old Nokia in for a Sony Ericsson T306 a couple weeks ago.
Generally happy with it so far but some questions I've got so far:

- Is there a way to turn off the screensaver? I don't like the fact that
I can't just glance at my phone to see if I have missed calls or
voicemail

- When I get a voicemail, in addition to having the voicemail icon
display on the screen, I get a text message saying a have voicemail.
This text message is redundant and annoying. Is this a phone setting
that can be disabled or is this part of the GSM network?

- With my old Nokia, when i looked at my voice message count, it would
say 0, 1, 2, etc or if the carrier didn't supply the info, it would say
'-'. This is important because there's a big difference between having 0
voice mails and not having connectivity to determine how many. Is there
any way that the phone will indicate whether it is able to get the
voicemail count?

- This is the first GSM phone I've had, what's the main difference
between the GSM network compared to the other standard digital network?

Thanks in advance,
Ryan
