T300 IR connection to Casio EM-500

Has anyone been able to establish an IR connection between a T300 and a
Casio EM-500?

The Casio identifies the T300, and tries to establish the connection, but
the T300 repeatedly says the connection failed.

Any ideas?

I get the same results if I try and send a .jpg from the phone to the
Casio.
