OK. I have been digging around a little bit now and the culprit seems to be
SE Syncprogram (PC Suit for P800 v. 1.5.1).
The USB Bluetooth software from IOGear can receive files directly from my
P800 without any problem and I can transfer big files (tried with 450K)
directly to other Bluetooth devices (Palm Tungsten T) without any problems
at all in the same environment.
