Swapping phone books from 520m to P910i

I wish this was possible for me but anytime I try to switch on bluetooth
or IR, on my 520 m then it hangs (which is why I change it). I do not
want to master reset because I think I will loose my phone contacts. So
all I have is the possibility to swap phone contacts to SIM. I can do
this only for part of the phone contacts, and when the SIM is in my
P910, the contacts are not well mapped with many names repeated.

So I try to open old back up contacts list in Microsoft Aceess as
delimited file. This looks good for a while as I can easily map each
column and save it a a .mdb file. But sadly, I can not get this into the
P910i yet even though it is connected to the computer just fine with IR.

Perhaps I need to use Windows phonebook as an intermediary ?

Can you get the contacts into Outlook's contacts folder? Outlook will allow
files to be imported from MS Access so why not give that a go.

Problem is that the only way left for export is the SIM.
All other (BT, IR and serial) are dead.

To be honest why not just sit down and type all your contacts into Outlook
afresh and then sync to your new phone, I mean unless you have several
hundred contacts it ain't gonna take that long is it?

The time you spend pissing around trying to get some technology solution you
could have done it with two fingers and a keyboard!!!!

I don't normally use Outlook and I'm not sure I want to but it just for
this task. This route is prone to a lot of errors at entry. If not
elegant electronic way, I'd rather type it into MS Access and save it in
a way the P900i can read it. Any suggestions here ? Saving as .CSV
doesn't seem to help. But I can make it look sensible in MS Access on
screen - there must be a file format the SE likes ?

It's annoying that the 520 m had a phone number field called 'Other' but
this doesn't easily map to anything on the P910i.

If you're gonna go the "manually typing in" method, you could use Float
Mobile Agent, in conjunction with a bluetooth dongle or Infra-red or
whatever to add the contacts to the P900

It wont help with getting the contacts out of the old phone, but it will
allow you to add new ones to teh P900 without using Outlokk. Has some other
useful functions too...

I must admit, it was starting to dawn on me that SE had not bundled in a
PC text and phone book editor like they did with the 250m.

Sadly I noticed the following comment about FMA on its informative site.
I could give it a go but you'd think SE would give out a nor MS option
to all this ?

Hmm - sorry, I havent actually tried it with a P910. Of course, if you
already have bluetooth on your computer, FMA is a free dowbload......
