Probs with MMS on P910i

I have a problem with receiving MMS on my P910i with Vodafone.
I can send MMS messages no problem, but any MMS I receive do not play back
properly. No sound and blank screens.
I've been blaming my friend who has a Nokia 9500 Communicator but he has
sent to other phones without a problem.
I have since discovered that if I reply to the MMS and then include the
original message in the reply and save it to the outbox rather than sending
it I can play the original incoming message.
Weird?!
Any suggestions?
