Opera not working on P910i

Posted: 10-07-2004, 06:46 PM
Hi everyone.

I've got good GPRS connectivity on my P910i and I can use the internal
browser just fine. However, when I use Opera, it just sits there and the
send/recv stats show 0kb. I'm using the same connection details (Vodafone
GPRS) with both browsers, but there is something screwing it up for Opera.

Does anybody know what it could be? I think my friend had a similar
problem with his P900 but never solved it.

Thanks.

I suspect that your Vodafone GPRS connection is a WAP GPRS profile
which is why it works with the 'Internet' application that comes with
the P910 (which is probably just a WAP browser and not the Internet as
most people understand it).

You need to set up a separate Internet GPRS profile to get it to work
with Opera.

You may need to contact Vodafone to get the Internet APN enabled on
your GPRS account. They should also be able to tell you how to
configure the connection.

Thank you very much Dorph and Pete for your replies. You were right. For
some reason I got 2 autoconfiguration connections from Vodafone, one said
wap, the other said internet. However, the internet one is configured the
same as wap! Creating the new access point as the link above showed
sorted it all out.

Thank you both very much.
