Hi Folks,
Can someone please explain the Magic Word? Does it work with a Bluetooth
headset?
I have a Jabra 200 and it doesn't work!
All seems a bit pointless to me....

The "Magic Word" is a word of your choosing, which you use to activate
voice control of your phone. I've had /// phones which could be set up
to always listen for the magic word, then a beep would be emitted, and I
could speak my contact's name, or the word for e.g. dictation. Newer SE
phones only support voice control for calling.
I do not know the Jabra headsets, but on SE BT headsets you would have
to press the headset call button, which removes the need for a magic word...
If the headset were to listen for the magic word constantly (all the
time transmitting background noise to the phone), you would have almost
zero battery duration.

Edit:
The intention behind magic word is that you set it to some sound that
never occurs unless you want it, like "Sofa King Stupid". This way your
phone won't call hell when you speak of the devil during normal
conversation.

That's why "magic word" only works when charged, e.g. in the car
holder.
