K700i software load problem please help

I do mean hangs, I am using XP.

Hmm, that should not have been a problem, then.
If you have a fast Inet connection, I would recommend downloading the
updated versions of the programs from the SE support site.
Other than that, did you close all other programs and disable anti-virus
while installing?
Does the CD have errors?

I'll try the download from the website, I did attempt by switching off the
firewall etc.

I'd totally agree with the switching off the anti-virus suggestion, I have
norton installed and unless auto protect is disabled the pc suite on my p800
is very slow and glitchy, also Zonealarm needed permissions set about 8
times during installation.
