That's what I thought but the other day I got the "server not found" error on my T610 which I set-up with IP addresses. So I removed the IP addresses and entered the pop and smtp server names, surprisingly both incoming and outgoing mail started working perfectly. The trouble with entering IP addresses is that your ISP can change them, mine certainly has. (-- Paul White [paul-white@despammed.com]

I've never put in the IP address for the server, and haven't had problems- I've used a T39, T68 and now a T610. Even roaming abroad on gprs, no problem. I've occasionally had the "server not found" message, but that's usually been temporary problems with my mobile company. (Apparently China Mobile does not have a GPRS roaming agreement with both of the two german operators I tried, E+ and D2.
