Help needed with email on R520M

Hi all,

I'm having a few problems getting email to work on my new R520. I have
tried with my freeserve, orange.net and o2 email accounts with no luck
sending or receiving - it just says 'server not found' when
connecting. I have set data accounts up for Orange GPRS Internet, O2
WAP and freeserve. I can access my O2 and Orange email accounts
perfectly through o2 wap using my Nokia 6610 and a java email client.

Any help much appreciated,

P.S. I'm in the UK, and have tried both my Orange and O2 PAYG Sims. I
have also double checked that I have entered the details required
correctly.

If you 've got an R2k software, you'll have to configure your e-mail
client by using ip adresses for pop3 and smtp servers instead of dns
entries...

I know you cant use O2 or Freeserve on a mobile unless its the O2 dial
up i think. I use a virgin account for the phone with no probs but I
couldn't get any of the others I tried to work

you have to make you e mail profile dial up the dial up number as well

damn, i've got R2K firmware. anybody know ip addresses for o2 and
orange.net in/out servers?

I think you can get them by opening a dos window and typing "ping
smtp.orange.net" (for example).

oh well, i've tried several resources and still no luck. I would have
prob been keeping this phone but if email doesn't work i have no
choice :-( Expansys are currently trying to help me with this prob.
