How good is the HCB-30?

Posted: 02-01-2004, 10:05 PM
I've just got the Ericsson HCB-30.
It's for my T68i.
I paid slightly more just to get the same brand.

The problem is that I opened the box and found a BIG load speaker in there.
I wasn't happy about that! : )
I had no idea I had to have a chunky addition.
I just assumed I could get the sound come through the car stereo speakers.
Evidently not!

Can someone tell me if the kit is worth keeping?
If it's good enough, then I'll consider keeping it.
(And before you mention it... I know you can get the extra cable to get the
sound to come through the speakers... but I think that's a rip off having
to spend another £30 just to get that!)

Else, can someone recommend another kit where you don't have a separate
speaker?

ANY help with any of the above would be really appreciated.

Thanks.

Yes.. It's worth keeping it.
Ericsson have an option for this kit that allows it to be connected to
your car radio. But this option is definitely not necessary, it's just
easier.
It's quite easy to hook it up to your car spearkers with the existing
connection
The HCB-30 works very well and in any other case there are no other
bluetooth car kit like this one

Guys
Allow me to interrupt mid-thread. Of all the Bluetooth speakerphones, HCB-30
is a favorite over the Nokia CK-1w or Parrot CK3000?

What about a desktop BT speaker phone?

What I like with the HCB-30 and my Ericsson phone is that it works with
the phone's voice dialing system.
AFAIK this will not work with any other brand unlike the Parrot which
has its own voice recognition system. Unfortunately, the phone book on
the parrot is not linked in any way to the phone and you'll have to
configure and enter all the number separately: a bit of a pain IMO

I love the bluetooth car kit. So nice to just get into the car, and it
just works. If I was on a call outside the car, when I get in I just
have to press on button and the call is transferred to the car speaker.
Sometimes I have to re-pair the phone and the carkit which is a bit
annoying, about once every 2 weeks.
