P900 & Norton Internet Security 2004

I have recently installed both Norton Systemworks and Internet Security
2004. Prior to this there was no problem sync'ing my phone with Outlook etc
but now I get the mesage that the phone is not connected. The Phone
Connection Link icon in the System Tray indicates (correctly) that the phone
is connected via COM 5, USB. However, when I select Synchronize I get a
message stating that no phone has been detected.

If I uninstall and reinstall the software all works well for a short period
but then fails in the manner decscribed above.

Antone got any suggestions? I am searching both SE's and Symantec's sites
for possible solutions.
