Bluetooth on P900 - What am I doing wrong?

Posted: 11-18-2003, 05:14 PM
Borrowed a friends BT USB adapter and plugged it into my XP PC so see
if there were compatible before I bought one.
Installed the latest software for the USB adapter.
The PC and the P900 see each other and I can get them to bond.
The PC recognises that the P900 has some services available.
From the PC I can select a file and right-click to use the send-as Bluetooth
option. This works fine.
But I am unable to transfer files the other way i.e. P900 to PC.
If I select a file on the phone and send as BT, it trys to initialise
and then it fails. I guessed it was trying to FTP to the PC, but no
connection is forthcoming even if I have an FTP server running on the PC.

If I attach the phone to the cradle, I can use the P900 icon which was
installed by the SonyEricsson software. Works great. Can drag and
drop from anywhere. Can this be done using BT instead?

I've tried 2 USB Bluetooth adapters, one the DLink DT120 and the other
from Sitecom. It looks to me that they are pretty similar in reality and
I think they are using the Widcomm stack.

Any thought/suggestions welcome.

Pete

Is your P900 sending the file using the FTP profile? Does the BT USB
adapter support that profile?

that may be the issue at hand - non-supported BT profiles.

Good question... don't know. How do I tell?
I haven't setup anything along those lines.
What setting should I be using and could you point me in
the direction of the correct menu option?

Cheers
