E65 how to remove all operator software?

I'm new to the forum. This looks like the place where I can get my answer, good forum!
I have an E65 from "3" in Ireland. I left them and got the phone unlocked. I'm now using it on the O2 network.
I've done the Nokia software updater and put a new firmware in. I though this would removal the nasty 3 software but it hasn't.
Am I missing a trick?
