Nokia 6681 ?

Posted: 04-02-2006, 07:21 PM
Hi,

I'm looking for a cellular that permits me to:
- listen MP3 (preferably with a normal walkman jack if available)
- easyly add/remove MP3 using a windows PC (eventually also Linux &
BSD), preferably with a cable connected to the PC or a plugable
(MMC?) card
- same thing but also for non MP3 files, .pdf, .doc, .odt, whatever,
permitting me to use the phone as a kind of small usb-like card
- take small photos and again, easyly read/remove (& add?) them
using a windows PC
- has a consistent/efficient interface and long battery life, hence
preferably nokia
- eventually compatible with some (nokia?) plugable keyboard

Looks like nokia 6681 fits those needs. Can I stock non mp3 files on the MMC
card ?

Thanks

Hi, I guess any mid-range Nokia can do what asked for. Probably many other
brands too.

Nokia PC Suite makes address book and calendar sync easy, if you don't want
to use network based services (I don't).
You would need an adapter to hook walkman type standard headsets, the
adapter is probably included in the sales package.
You can use a memory card adapter and put any files to the card with your PC
or you can directly exchange files from the phone through USB cable or BT
(or IR if supported by the phone).
Not all file types are supported by the phone but 6681 should support pdf
and office files with quickoffice, or other applications.
All this for the photos taken by the phone (it's got a 1.3Mpixel camera, I
wouldn't call those just "small photos" even if not as good as with a modern
digital camera).

Do you want only nokia phones? Cos SE w800i,at least that's what its called here in india, fits your description very well. I don't know about PC sync but all other conditions are satisfied in that.
