BT doesn't auto-connect

Posted: 04-01-2006, 12:58 PM
Hi all, this 6680 is a great phone and thanks to you guys and gals I'm
really enjoying it. I have a new problem, however, which I could do with
some help on.

I've just purchased a BT GPS (model no. FGPXBT02) to use with TomTom
mobile 5. I paired the receiver with the phone and it connected straight
away. I chose the option to authorise it so it would connect whenever
the gps is in range.

Trouble is, it doesn't reconnect - I have to delete the pairing and go
through the process again. Then it works fine. What am I doing wrong?

Any help appreciated, as always :-)

Hi, I'm using Navicore and I get connected automatically every time I start
the application.

I'm not familiar with BT in this detail but I'm assuming that the phone
should not automatically connect to each available device who is authorised
(authorisation only means that you have in advance decided "accept" for any
connection attempt that is going to happen) but either you should have an
application at the phone who needs this BT connection or the other device
should initialise the connection attempt. BT experts hopefully correct me
where I'm wrong.

So, I would expect you too getting connected automatically when you have the
BT GPS device on and when you start your TomTom application (properly
configured?).

I also hope those who are using the same application/BT device would respond
with their views and experience.

Thanks Me, I was under a misapprehension about the way BT worked. You're
right, when I fire up TomTom the GPS connects. Happy bunny again :-)
