2600 issues - please help

When sending SMS, the receiver gets the message displayed automatically
on their phone. The problem is that when sending a long message (2 or 3
SMS's) only the last one is displayed. I cannot find any menu setting
to change this. Any ideas?
The character counter when composing an SMS behaves erratically,
sometimes going to message no. 2 before I've used 160 characters.
Ideas?
When inputting a number on the screen, you have the option to either
dial or save the number. When saving (to phone or SIM) there is another
option to convert the number between local and international. It
doesn't seem to be doing anything useful and there is no mention of
this feature in the manual.
Any help appreciated.
