6230 5.24 DTMF bug?

issue with sending DTMF tones (I use call-through services like QXDial
and PreDial a lot, so this is vital).
DTMF works when you select it from Options within a call, but using
the + character at the end of the number dialled to bring up the DTMF
option no longer works properly - when you select an entry from your
phonebook it doesn't show the number, but tries to select a speed dial
instead.
It worked fine on my earlier handset (fw 3.17), and on my current one
before the upgrade (4.28). Anyone aware of a workaround?
