Bluetooth headset constant connection

'alt.cellular.bluetooth '.
I've been noticing a serious problem with the headset profiles on several/all Nokia mobile phones
for many years now.
But recently to my great disappointment,, this problem has also been apparent in some of the latest
sony-ericsson mobile phones like the 3G Z1010 and the S700i.
I just bought a Z1010.
Here's the problem, after a call has ended, the phone does not disconnect from the headset.
Pressing the button on the headset once also does not initiate a disconnection.
With the headset and phone maintaining a 'constant' connection with each other, this kills the
battery on the headset within a day (even if the headset is brand new). In other words, it's almost
as good as 'continuously talking' on the headset. The battery on the phone is not an issue.
Not only that, with the headset and phone being connected, one is unable to use other bluetooth
devices with the phone (e.g PDA internet surfing or SMS, PC sync/object push, phone->phone sharing
of files/pics with friends via bluetooth).
I'm using a Jabra 250 with my Sony-Ericsson Z1010. I'm having this problem and it's very irritating.
The problem also appears even if an ericsson headset is used with it.
I've never had this problem with my jabra/T39m, T68 & T610, Z600.
The only solution is to manually off and on the headset or to disconnect the headset via the phone
menu/s. On an average I receive like 30-50 calls a day. This can be very irritaing/unproductive to
do a manual disconnection after every call.
What's even more irritating is, some ericsson support staff insisted that this was 'feature' of the
phone. That you have to manually disconnect the headset/phone by using the procedure I described
above which I already knew a long time back. Great feature!
Ericsson has not released an updated firmware for the Z1010 yet. I hope that fixes the problem if it
is ever released.
But I'm even more surprised, I don't see this problem reported much/at all among users. Even with a
google groups search.
Is it because that most users have come to think that this is the 'norm' for headsets?
