Startup tone on Nokia 3588i

Hello!

I initially posted this question in the alt.cellular.spirintpcs newsgroup,
but probably should have done it here, since this group is more specific to
my concern.

My wife just got service with Sprint and got a Nokia 3588i phone. Every time
she turns it on, it goes through a loud musical tone for several seconds.
Sprint may think it's cute, but she thinks it is obnoxious. I have been
through all the phone's menus and cannot find a way to turn off the tone.
Nokia said it cannot be turned off via the normal menu, but failed to
specify if it can be altered or killed any other way, such as through their
PC Suite application that allows creating ring tones, etc.

Any Nokia gurus out there know of any buried, non-standard menu that will
allow killing the startup tone?
