6230 and Palm Tungsten (T) -connectivity-

Posted: 09-03-2004, 07:46 AM
Folks..

Has anyone out here managed to get the Nokia 6230 and a Palm (Tung T in my
case) to communicate with each other, in as much as connecting to the "net",
or sending sms (originated from the Palm). I have no problem with them
connecting by BT/Ir to each other, but am unable to connect to the "net" or
sms, originated from the Palm.

Thanks in anticipation

Cheers

I'm having the same trouble with my 6820. It's getting the latest firmware
put in next week but I doubt that'll make
a difference. It seems we'll have to wait for palm to write a suitable
driver.
I also came across a German company selling a package claiming to sort GPRS
and other issues for a range of phones.
I contacted them but they don't have a solution for these latest phones yet.

I have the same problem. Palm support wrote to me to say that no driver has
been written for the 6230 because of the low number of requests that they
have received.
They could give me no deadline or threshold for time or number of requests
required.

Maybe you could give us a reference, then if we all send requests
over the next week...

Similar feedback to what I got from Palm. They "claim" that it should work
with the "generic" (gsm phone) drivers but it doesn't.

If waiting for the drivers for the 6230, is anything like waiting for the
drivers for the 6600, then I think it's going to be a long wait!!, as I have
never been able to connect my 6600 either.

I'm also using Palm desktop 4.14 (previous version 4.000??. With 4.000, part
of the "package" was phone link update, and when connecting to the updates,
one could actually SEE the current phones supported, and if there had been
any further releases. With 4.14, there is No phone link update (within the
programme package) so one has to go to the Palm website, but it doesn't
actually show the phones supported PRIOR to download.

"Ohh life would be so much better, if Palm actually supported their
customers, so the device could be used to its full potential"
(Palm, IF you're reading this, take note!!) :-)

Cheers for your feedback folks/
