I've got a 6230, firmware 3.15, on Vodafone UK. Short battey life apart,
it's a nice phone but there is one thing that's driving me nuts and I'm not
sure if it's a bug, a feature, or just something I can't work out how to
change:
If I'm using the bog-standard Nokia handsfree, or the
invent-a-new-way-to-strangle-yourself-and-look-a-prat-at-the-same-time one
as supplied, or a Jabra over-the-ear one (all wired, none Bluetooth), SMS
alert tones go to the headset earpiece, & not the usual phone speaker. It
rings fine for incoming voice calls. Tried all sorts of tones
(mono/poly/mp3) & it seems to happen for all of them.
This is very not-handy for me. All I can do at the moment is have the
earpiece in all the time, which is irritating & in some circumstances not
possible. Alternatively, I have to unplug the headset every time I've
finished a call, but then plugging it in to answer one again is not quick or
easy, & in some cases impossible.
Anyone else have this problem & found a fix, or do I just have live with it?
Thanks,
Evan
