unfortunately, NO

6600 uses Wap2.0 and that does not allow some DHCP function to work,
effectively killing any way of connecting via the way you described.

my NGage and the 7650/3650 can do it since it uses an earlier version of
WAP...

sorry...

now i feel better having an Ngage...hehe

cheers

I could hook my 3650 to the net via my PC's broadband connection?
Wow! Now that I have the ability, all I need is the desire!

Seriously, why would one want to surf the web with an akward phone
browser when they a within 10 meters of a PC?

To retrieve email? To get apps/games from a WAP site? To mention a few ..

Java games that have auto updates available from WAP?

I can do that with GPRS when I'm out. If I'm home I'll download
e-mail, games etc. to my PC and transfer them.

> Java games that have auto updates available from WAP?

I'm spoiled I guess... I'm a T-Mobile USA user so I get free WAP over
GPRS.

I do connect my Pocket PC to the 'net at home via wi-fi (to surf in
bed), and I find it's small screen (4x the size of my Nokia 3650,
though) and stylus input strains usability as far as I'm willing to
go. The thought of voluntarily using my mobile as an internet
terminal at home with it's stamp size screen and predictive text entry
gives me the willies!

To each his (or her) own, I guess! ;-)

Not really-again, if you're using bluetooth you're within spitting
distance of your PC. Playing games on my mobile 10 feet from a real
computer is like playing a Game Boy sitting in front of an XBox, or
watching an MPEG movie on your mobile in the same room as your hi-def
home theater!

Maybe I've just never seen the charm in mobile gaming- I understand it
if I'm bored and stuck at the airport, but to intentional fire up my
Nokia to play a game when I'm standing next to a computer? Not I!
