I would like to recommend Anvil Studio ( http://www.anvilstudio.com/ . It's
free, easy to use and has enough features for most purposes. I didn't have
any experience in sound editing or mixing, but I learnt to edit my MIDI
files as good ring tones in a few moments.

I prefer MIDI files as ring tones, because their file and sound quality
ratio is very good.

Doesn't the phone come loaded with a rudimentary program called Composer? I
can't get it to do anything good for me, but some people with musical
knowledge can produce surprisingly nice tones with it!

yea thats what i do use a converter for mp3->wav conversion and then use the
nokia multimedia player(get it of the nokia website under software for 6600)
and convert the .wav to .amr and then boom it thru bluetooth to the phone
takes 2 mins...

u can get converter from download.com
