Hands free bits

Posted: 02-14-2004, 08:55 PM
I have a Nokia 6110 with a hands free kit in my car.
I am now buying a new car and wish to tranfer the hands free kit to it.
As I am reluctant to spend about £200 for a new kit can anyone tell me where
I can obtain (in the UK) a new wiring harness and mounting bracket to suit
my new car?

Thanks

Brian

Can't you just remove the old one..? I've not had a problem reinstalling
my CARK-91 for my 6310i.

Thanks for the help, just the job..
Ivor, the only reason I was after a new loom is the fact that the kit came
with a plug which went direct into the back of the radio which muted the
radio and directed the phone output through the radio speakers. I'm guess I
can sort out what does what on the old car and try to replicate it on the
new one. Just a bit wary of blowing up the new radio.
Thanks
Brian

I used to have the same thing and I searched everywhere for a similar loom,
but the only company I found said that it couldn't be bought seperately,
only as part of an installation kit.

Basically it just switches the stereo output into an 8ohm load and passes
the phone output to the speakers. it's not rocket science but might not be
worth all the effort when most modern stereos have a phone mute anyway.

Precisely, my Ford radio just requires the mute wire from the kit to be
connected to one of the terminals on the rear. So I have to have a
separate speaker for the phone and not use the radio speakers, but so
what..? I fixed it in place under the seat with a couple of cable ties and
nobody knows it's there..!
