nokia 9110 screen problem

Hi there,

I was given an old Nokia 9110 Communicator. I found out that it can
work only with O2 or Vodafone networks in the UK, so I bought an O2
simcard for it and it registered OK. Unfortunately, although I was
heard, I couldn't hear anyone. It turned out that one connector in the
speaker worn off a little, but I managed to fix it.

The major problem I have with this phone is that the internal screen
doesn't work. I can see it displaying the very first picture (Nokia
9110 Communicator and a sketch of Nokia 9110) a few seconds after
inserting the battery and then it's going off and I am not able to get
it working. I am also able to invoke Formatting the file system window
(after pressing Shift+Tab+f while inserting battery) and the screen
works also while Formatting operation is performed, but afterwards
it's dead again. While pressing Shift+Tab+< a message Checking file
system shows for a second. Is there any chance to get this screen to
work? I would appreciate any help.
