Video Recorder app for recording more than 100K clips: Title?

Posted: 11-22-2003, 09:33 PM
Can someone suggest me an app or two (with links to download trial/buy if
possible) to use to write videoclips of more than 100K?
6600 has a nice bundled recorder but only writes to MMS sizes.

TIA.

OK, I downloaded ETI Camcorder Pro for my 6600 and I get "App.Close" error
when trying to record sound. In ETI's FAQ says this is a known bug but
usually occurs when memory is full. In my case I have free almost 1.5MB of
Phone RAM. I tried both audio codecs- General and Speech- the latter seems
not to work at all.

Nice program, I say. I should wait for the 6600-specific version though
and/or when they iron all bugs dead.

Somebody else with more luck?

Is speech not working to me because I don't have the registered version? I
downloaded the trial version, maybe sound is turned off for this.
Anyone else tried it?

I also noticed that the files .eye (the proprietary video format the program
uses) appear in the Files Manager under /Videos only if you save in the MMC.

Because of the sound bug, I recorded some video files that were NOT
appearing on the "My Videos" link of ETI Camcorder, but were still visible
in the Files Manager of the phone as small bogus files.
Well, then this means that when I chose to record to the Phone Memory with
the sound feature on- which is problematic in my 6600- I written without
knowing in the RAM of my Phone's memory, WITHOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF DELETING
THEM... :-/

This is serious fellows cause there might be small .eye files in the phone
RAM which I can't access through the File Manager...

SO A WARNING: Always save to the MMC. Afterall, it's a lot bigger! :-)

Come to think of it, you can always use an external (3rd-party) more
powerful File Manager to have access to ALL folders of your phone.

I'll be trying this
(http://nokia-6600-software.epocware.com/Handy_File.html) and append here if
I managed to effectively delete the bogus video files.

Thanks Zire, we almost posted at the same time with the same solution! :-)
I'll try FExplorer cause it seems smaller, more efficient, and FREE!

Grazie man,
Constantine.

Did it. Deleted all damn .eye files using FExplorer 1.10.

This is a Killer app for all Symbian-based NOKIA phones. I suggest you
download it ASAP. It's free as well.
