8210 charging voltage.

Can anyone tell me the maximum volatge that can be input on the charger socket?

Does the charger input have protection for over voltage, reverse polarity?

I want to know if I can charge directly from the cigarette lighter.

Thanks in advance.

5.3V is the highest output V ive seen on an official nokia charger (ACP8)

Should have capacitors and diode protection, not too sure

Nope, its definitely overvoltage - how the heck can a 3.6V battery withstand
a 12V charge?! U'll need a car charger, a cheap comatible will suffice.

ACP-12U: 5.7V @ 800 mA

Oops...i stand corrected...even though i have lots of ACP7s and only one ACP
12 I didnt bother with it (never liked fast chargers-they damage batteries
to the rate of one "compatible" battery every two months with my old
ericsson PF768)

I believe the charging cicuitry is in the phone and the charger is
just a common voltage source.

So there will be a lower dropout point and an upper point at where the
phone cicuitry is dissipating too much power or the voltage ratings of
the components in the charging cicuit are exceeded.

Hoping someone knows the answer, but I think it will probably easier
to make another lead up.

Thanks all.
