7250i standby screen text

Posted: 11-08-2003, 08:49 PM
Does anybody know if it is possible to change the text colour on the
standby screen of a 7250i. There are colour schemes, but they only change
the colour of the signal and battery meters and not the
clock/network name/"Menu".

Not without creating your own custom firmware - you'll need to understand
assembler and have a good multi-target assembler/disassemble to create the
firmware and know the hardware of the 7250i better than the technicians who
made it so that you can understand how all the system calls and interrupts
work. Having a good Honours Degree in Computing and some relevant experience
in embedded systems and having a lot of programming (preferably in C and
Assembler) experience would be a bonus. You will need to disassemble and
reverse engineer their firmware (this is illegal by the way). Alternatively
you might be able to get hold of the original source code if you bribe one
of the programmers at Nokia. However you get the code, you will then need to
modify it and reprogram it to your needs. Once you've made the firmware you
will need to buy the flashing equipment (VERY expensive) and upload it to
your phone. While you're at it you can fix some of the bugs that the
firmware already contains.

So, for most people, no it's not possible (yet).

Which menu is that in? I cant find it on my phone....

I was actually looking at flashing equipment the other day, and it is too
expensive. I have the degree in computer science though (but buying one
of them is probably cheaper than the flashing toys, if you reply to the
right pieces of spam)
