Tis sadly true. but then, if it's DCT-4, I thought the IMEI was (rightly so)
impossible to change outside an NSC, so not too much of a concern. and it's
also worth noting that it's the only way to unlock the phone. there are
plenty of trustworthy ones out there. (not the free ones generally) many are
recommended here all the time.

Close, but no cigar. :-)
From what I know, DCT4 IMEI's are better protected than DCT3, but not
impossible to tamper with. Although now illegal in the UK (and carrying
very hefty penalties), I'm sure it is still going on, and the information
and equipment required is available even from some well respected sources.
> so not too much of a concern.
Not true. Just because the IMEI was assigned to a DCT4 handset doesn't mean
that some unscrupulous toe-rag (one word or two?) can't use it to re-porgram
a DCT3 handset, or anything else for that matter.

Cable methods can also be used, but not so conveniently I'd agree.

Absolutely. Just be aware that posting your IMEI on a forum is as bad (if
not worse in one case I can think of) as posting it on usenet.
Let me get 1 thing straight my site is NOT a forum and IMEI are not stored
on my computer once I have generated the unlock code I delete the email with
the IMEI number. Also the unlock software I have got will do the latest
nokias inc the N-Gage and 6600. I am getting sick and tired of people saying
"oh no you can't do that" well I have done it and will continue to unlock
new nokias as I have successfully unlocked 3 N-Gages and 6 6600's so please
if you have nothing more to add to that please don't post replies.

And your point is?

Wow, whoopee, I'm sure we're all impressed. Virtually all of the regular
posters have access to exactly the same software, and in many cases far
superior software. Again, what is your point?

So what? All the established unlockers (ourselves included) can do exactly
the same, but we don't take issue with anyone correcting incorrect
information.

Oh do grow up! This is a public forum, and anyone is free to post - even if
you don't like the replies. As for having anything to add, what exactly
have you contributed to ACN apart from spam?
Also, would you please not top-post, it is bad manners after all.
