Re: Phone editor with 6210 Posted: 09-05-2003, 09:54 PM I used to use 4.06, which was a bit flaky in this area too. But it wouldusually connect, sometimes after a very long wait. According to the Nokia site it shouldn't have worked, 'cause I'm using Windows XP, but it did. I'll probably go back to 4.06. Cheers, Mike "David W.E. I have the same phone 6210, same Windows XP, same version of PC Suite, and the same experience. I have struggled with an older version first, but that did nothing. Then I used version 4.81, which could connect once (e.g. using content copier). The second contact invariably would result in a blue screen mentioning as a stop-message something like 'bad pool caller'and some long HEX adresses. Restarting the PC brought me back to computer uage. I joined this group 10 days ago and searched for 6210, IrDa and 4.81 consecutive, but found nothing. Some days ago someone mentioned, that the IrDa-settings should not assign it for photo-transfer (or something like that). Done that, and I could work. First I made a back-up using ContentCopier. Straightforward. Next I used synchronisation with Outlook. I intended to weed out double entries, entries from former jobs etc., harmonise the naming convention, (last name, christian name for all) and things like that. I could transfer everything to the PC, and kept half of the names, edited them, added a few new ones (20 members of my choir...) in Outlook). Then I erased the phone's memory. When resynchronising, I dit not find the harmonised names in the phones. Actually, when I tried a second time after emptying the phone's memory, I ended with 4 out of 120 names... The back-up from Content Copier could be copied back, to my luck of course because it is quicker to erase half of the entries than to enter the other half using the phone-keyboard. Now, after closing down the PC, on restart I get a blue screen again, without message, just some adresses. When restarting I get the option to re-establish the last confguration that had worked OK. I got interested in Phone-editor, but like you, I saw the phone-connection icon crossed out. Also for me: any idea's?? L.
