unable to send e maiil via 7650

Posted: 06-25-2003, 10:06 PM
I have set up my phone pop3 settings on my 7650. I can receive e mails no
problem, but when I try to send an e mail, I just get the connecting to
mailbox screen. I leave it, then after about 5 mins I get a timed out
message and then the phone disconnects.
Any ideas?

TIA

Jeff

try a different SMTP server - your network provider probably has one. Which
email are you trying to use? some require authenticated SMTP, and some ISP's
only allow connections if you dial into your ISP account and connect from
there - not GPRS.

A bit of info would help. Like what network you are on, the smtp server
you have set in the phone, etc.

Set your outgoing (SMTP) server to be mail.o2.co.uk and all should be
fine.

(You are trying to send via the BT Internet SMTP server. They won't
allow you to do this as you are not dialling up to them directly.)
