AT&T is set to release another Android-powered smartphone, which is the HTC Lancaster. This mobile phone is said to be a “consumer social messaging device” as it will have a “unique HTC social messaging user interface.” Though we’re not sure what it actually does, still, this device guarantees to become a hit since many are indeed interested in Android-powered handsets.
This HTC Lancaster seems to combine the G2 Magic and the G1 Dream in terms of design, and with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. It supports tri-band EDGE with dual-band AT&T 3G, plus it also has AGPS, 3-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, and a microSD card support. It will also be powered with Qualcomm ARM processor and chipset, and will have 2.8-inch 240 x 320 pixels touch screen display.
The release date for this HTC Lancaster is set to be sometime in August. It is rumored that AT&T has secured a 6-month exclusive agreement with HTC about this device, so that means other carriers will still have to wait for such time to get this.
