It will have the latest version of the Nokia Maps, which is the brand’s GPS navigation and will feature a pedestrian mode, complete with maps of different regions and as well as a compass. The Nokia Maps could also be synced to routes you have created on your personal computer as it can interact with Ovi. The Mapping data is stored on the memory card so there will be no need for data downloads.
Aside from that navigation feature, this will also offer a touch-sensitive area for easy zooming in and out of the images on the 2.6-inch QVGA 240 x 320 pixels resolution screen display. Multimedia features include 5-megapixel camera with Carl-Zeiss Optics, double LED flash and geo-tagging, an FM radio and 3.5mm audio jack.
It is a quad-band GSM phone with support for tri-band UMTS, HSDPA, HSUPA and as well as Wi-Fi connectivity. The packaging includes a car cradle (CR-111), which may be combined with loudspeaker (HF-310), for easy navigation while inside a car.
The Nokia 6710 Navigator will be available in third quarter of this year. It will come in titanium and brown colors although it is expected to come out with more choices.
