Nokia 6260 Slide Phone Announced

Nokia has announced Nokia 6260 Slide phone which appears to have been given extra 'social' touch. The new slider handset is powered by the Series 40 operating system, which is the first of its kind for the mass market. S40 platform is already being used in millions of handsets and it is less responsive and powerful while it doesn't support true multi-tasking either. All things said, it's great for a mid range handsets and Nokia 6260 seems to be the one. It capitalizes on host of social features while its 5 megapixel camera will certainly raise a cheer.



The handset features a 2.4 inch display, microSD memory card slot, 5 mega-pixel Carl Zeiss camera with flash,assisted GPS and Wi-Fi connectivity. The phone also supports quad-band GSM and tri-band UMTS connectivity. It has what seems to be the favorite technology of mobile phone users these days, 3G. The phone will be available in white and black color variants. Expect it to reach markets by the beginning of 2009.
