V551, logo on outside screen
Posts: n/a outside screen has displayed the word "Cingular." I was just wondering how I'd go about changing it back to the Morotola logo that was there originally. Is it as simple as uploading a new graphic? Or is there more to it? How complicated is it?  Responses to "V551, logo on outside screen"

Decided to go the reflash route, since that's what I did to get the Cingular firmware onto the phone in the first place. I downloaded a flash/flex monster pack for my V551, and installed the software and followed the instructions at http://www.mob453.com/phones/motorola_v600/ When I tell the MultiFlashFlex to start flashing the phone, I get one of those Windows XP "send error report to Mocrosoft" dialogs, followed by an error that says, "The instruction at 0x5f4012a1" referenced memory at "0x00000004". The memory could not be "read". Click OK to terminate the program:" Now... Is this an incompatibility issue with the program? I'm pretty sure I don't have any bad memory registers at the moment. Are there other programs I could use to flash the phone, or is MultiFlashFlex the best/only one?

All the software that I installed initially to get my phone flashed (and to get seem editors and such working) sort of replaced the drivers for Mobile Phone Tools. Is there a utility that'll reset things, or do I have to reinstall the program everytime I play with my phone's software?

O was just looking at the 0061-0001 seem (the one that sets the text on the outside screen on the V551, and noticed that it's just the word "Motorola" spelled out in Hex. Question, though... How do you get the little Motorola logo icon to appear before the text? Is there a graphic file that does that?

I think there's some good info on that on the forums at www.motomodders.net and at www.motox.net. I've never played around with that myself.
