3 network on T-mobile phones??

contract phone was stolen recently and it wasn't insured, I have my heart set
on gettin a C115 purely as it has long battery life for calls, which is what
I need it for. Any idea whether my 3 sim card would work in this handset?
When cancelling my phone someone told me 3 was the same a T-mobile or
something...
Any response would be much appreciated, thanks.
