V360 Subsidy removal?

I've just purchased a locked V360 mobile phone and am attempting to remove the subsidy lock.
The details are:
Software Version: R4513_G_08.B7.30R_B
DSP S/W: 63151B00
Bootloader 08.A0
Flex Version: GSTV360T677NT153
IMEI: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
There is a lot of information on various forums regarding this phone but no definitive method of removing the subsidy password.
Can anyone point me in the right direction for a procedure to remove the subsidy password without having to fork out US$500.
The phone is locked to the Telstra network in Australia and I'd also like to get rid of their branding as well
